CHADS ALASKA CHALLENGE

MONTANA FISHING

Can you catch bigger?

Friday, July 3, 2009

I have always loved Montana but I have re-fallen in love with Libby (the town that Chad and I grew up in). It has been a while since I have been here during the summer. Most of our visits have been around Christmas time which = dead of winter. Everything that the kids and I have done has never been more than a 20 minute drive and I have gotten to eat some of my favorite things.

Burger Express Taco- check
Rosaures (Dads store) shortbread cookie and cheese rolls - check
Treat (or 2) from Dairy Queen - check check...our DQ is special its walk up only, no drive-thru, no inside seating just a couple picnic tables outside and its only open from about may - October
Red Dog Pizza - check just got back THE BEST EVER!

The end of River Road trail...

(the best thing about going with my mom is that she puts her i-pod on and sings the whole way!)

Last night my Dad, Mom, Justin and I floated the river in my Dads drift boat a.k.a "The Trout Slayer." It was very beautiful and relaxing (although I'm finding out that I have to remind my self to relax). My sis, Riki, took Jessica for me...Thank You!

Today my brother Josh and I took the kids up to the Kootenai Falls and Swinging Bridge. If you have ever seen the movie River Wild this is where it was filmed. Justin was a great little hiker and Jessica just loves catching a ride on my back.

So we are off to the lake tomorrow and looking forward to the neighbors firework show tomorrow night (unlike AZ fireworks are not illegal in MT )

Have a Happy 4th!!!

Double Take

My friends pointed out this guy to me who looked like my husband...sure enough I thought he did too, it wasn't just the drinks talking. Levi (sis boy friend) ran into this same guy last winter snowmobiling and also thought it was Chad . After trying to sneak pics I finally just went up to him and said "you look a lot like my husband, can I take a picture with you"
He says"I graduated w/Chad how is he"....so embarrassing...anyway..What do you think?

MT part 2

I know I'm being brief and this is kind of our trip in a nutshell but I'm just glad to be posting and update...

Funny faces

Jeff telling Chad to go scoop some dog poop

Always an obedient son

Justin's little Heaven

My sisters boyfriend has a contracting business and we took Justin down to his shop to see all the trucks. No one was there and Justin loved running around to see them all (and he could name most of them) Riki and I got him to get in the dump truck after much persuasion. He was scared it would start and be loud silly boy. Right before we were going to leave Rich, Levi's dad, showed up and asked Justin if he wanted to run a load with him....no hesitation off he went...he has never even met Rich before...He LOVED it!!! Thanks Rich

You can see his little head in the black truck

LOGGER DAYS

So our little town is mainly a logging town and Logger days is our annual celebration of all those Loggers we love (thats even our high school mascot)

Justin at the Carnival

My brother such a good sport...taking Justin on the slide

Now this is pure entertainment...the most looked forward to event....Bull/Bullette of the Woods. Basically it 2 people up on the huge log boxing. You have to knock the opponet off 2 times...no pushing and no stepping over the line... best bet is straight for the face.....

My brother finishing the 10K run...great job Josh...

At the Lake

2 WEEKS and 2 DAYS

After a 22 hr car drive with a sick baby and a husband who had self-diagnosed larangytis...I'm sure he just didn't want me talking for 22 hrs straight and thought it was a good way to get out of it.....we made it back to MONTANA . Can't say that I loved the drive but after not having been back in a year adn a half I love the feeling of coming home. Although after Chad went back to AZ after only being here 1 week with us I (once again) realized that home for me is where we are when we are ALL TOGETHER as a FAMILY but MT will always hold a special place in my heart. But that is a whole other thing....so back to the green grass, trees, mountains, lakes, rivers, creeks....back to MONTANA

Playing in sand box at Papa and Nana's

(this was at 9:15 pm at night....stays light until 10:30...love/hate thing)

I went to Bozeman for my very best friend of 15+ years wedding. She was a beautiful bride and we had a great time. Hubby and kids came over 2 days later for the wedding. This was the Bach. party
